You have approximately 936 weeks from the day a child is born until he or she graduates from high school, and the weeks move quickly. It is important to be intentional about your child’s faith development, At OCM we want to partner with you to help build a life changing spiritual foundation for your child. Parents, you can do this by consistently bringing your child to church and continuing the faith discussion at home (don’t worry we will give you the tools you need).
Because when you see how much TIME you have left, you tend to do MORE with the TIME you have now.

6 WEEKS – PRE K
Care is provided for this age group through all Sunday Morning and Wednesday evening services and classes and during most special events.
Ooltewah has special classes for your infant (six weeks) through preschool-aged children. We can’t wait to meet them! In OCM. we focus on 3 big ideas:
– God MADE me.
– God LOVES me.
– Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever.
We believe in an active, hands-on approach to learning with preschool children. So, you can plan on a lot of jumping, singing, dancing, and laughter in every experience. Be on the lookout for fun crafts and big games.
Infants: Our infants receive wonderful care from our loving nursery workers. We reach even the youngest of lives, as our babies are told that God made them, God loves them, and God wants to be their friend.
Toddlers (2-3 yrs.): Our toddlers participate in fun crafts and engaging stories through Orange’s “First Look”. The three basic principles speak to this age group as they learn that God made them, God loves them, and God wants to be their friend.
Pre-K (4-5): Our Pre-K children experience foundational stories from scripture through Orange’s “First Look” curriculum that give them the opportunity to create through crafts and story time. These children learn the key elements that God made them, God loves them and God wants to be their friend as they enjoy games, crafts, and music!
Your child’s safety is our first priority. All staff and volunteers pass a background check, follow our safe sanctuaries guidelines, and we have a church safety patrol monitoring the hallways, We use a security tag system for child check-in and pick-up.
OUMC Safe Sanctuaries policies- The safety and well-being of children under our care is of the highest concern. Along with the United Methodist Church, OUMC has created and implemented policies that safeguard and protect children, youth, and adults who worship and serve here. A copy of our Safe Sanctuaries policies is available here.
Every week we send home Parent Cue’s to help you see what your child is learning so you can encourage and pray with your family to turn lessons into growth.
