Cub Scouts

For 100 years, scouting has been a huge player in shaping the values and moral fiber of our children. OUMC continues that tradition with Cub Scout Pack 147, chartered since 1998, this pack has grown to over 60 scouts.  These boys get to experience annual outdoor adventures including camping, fishing, archery and bb gun shooting.  As well as indoor activities such as the Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta and Space Derby.

Past adventures have included an overnight stays on the USS Yorktown, Charleston, SC, at the Space Camp, Huntsville, AL, and “Sleeping with the Sharks”, Gatlinburg Aquarium.  They have gotten to see wild bears on the Cades Cove 11 mile loop in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, and trail hike many different local trails.  We keep the program fun and exciting, while each grade level walks through the requirements to earn his badge. Our pack has received the National Quality Unit award since 2005. If you would like to more information about scouting at OUMC, call Robert King at (423) 580-4553.
