At OUMC, we believe that followers of Jesus are called to serve God by serving others through their time, talents, and spiritual gifts in service.
Looking for ways to serve? We have something for everyone! Here you will find detailed information about our service opportunities including the amount of time required and any special skills requested. All ages and abilities welcome!
Soloists, instrumental or vocal (Traditional)
We always looking for people who have a song in their heart for God and a willingness to express that love in providing special solo music for worship! An audition may be required.
Brass Ensemble Member (Traditional)
Radiate the sound of praise in God’s house as a member of the brass ensemble! Whether you play trumpet, French horn, trombone, or tuba, your talents are welcome! This ensemble plays for special occasions and
JuBellation Handbell Choir Member (Traditional)
Let the ringing of God’s worship resonate through OUMC and join JuBellation Handbell Choir. We currently have a 4 octave ensemble. This ensemble currently performs once every month and is looking into performing more often.
Chancel Choir Member (Traditional)
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord and join the harmony as a member of the chancel choir! This ensemble rehearses and performs regularly. The choir sings a variety of traditional repertoire. All voices are
Online Greeter (both services)
Extend a virtual hand of welcome and blessing to those attending via our livestream. Oversee comments and prayer requests and meet everyone with a warm OUMC greeting.
Video Team (Traditional)
Spread the message of the Gospel to those present online by operating our livestream computer, switching back and forth to the desired cameras and main computer. No experience requires; training provided.
Computer Graphics (Traditional)
Help spread the message of Jesus by running ProPresenter on Sunday mornings. This includes presenting worship lyrics, graphics, and video elements for the congregation both in-house and online. No experience required; training provided.
Sound Team (Traditional)
Help distribute and spread the gospel of Jesus by running our sound system for both in house and our broadcast. No experience required; training provided.
Sanctuary Care (Traditional)
Preparing the traditional space for worship by making sure the pews are free of trash and have the right amount of envelopes, hymnals, and Bibles. This team also changes out the paraments, making sure the
Scripture Reader (Traditional)
Present the word of God to the congregation by reading and leading affirmations and scripture, as well as reading for special worship events such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday.
Communion Preparation
Set the table for the Lord’s supper. Make sure the elements are present and presentable, as well as accessible to the pastors as they invite the congregation to partake in the meal.
Communion Server
Serve at the Lord’s table by serving the Communion elements to the congregation.
Coffee Station ‘Barista’
Help to get everyone’s morning off to a great start by preparing the morning coffee and keeping the Coffee Bar stocked.
Altar Design Team (Traditional)
Use your eye for design and creative spirit to help us enhance our traditional worship experience through altar desing. This team meets as needed to help vision the altar decor for the seasons of Lent
Worship Design Team (Contemporary)
Use your eye for design and creative spirit to help us enhance our contemporary worship experience through visual and experiencial components. This team meets every other month to vision for upcoming sermon series. In addition,

Ushers & Greeters for the 9:00 Traditional Service

The Grow Team is responsible for offering guidance and support to existing small groups in the area of discipleship. They help launch and support small groups, recruit leaders/facilitators/teachers, and spearhead any church-wide discipleship emphases.
